A Walk message from Jackie
Happy New Year! I hope everyone is having a happy and healthy start to the new year!
Back in 2011, we started a Walk to Cure Diabetes 2012 early registration contest, which ended on December 31st. Molly and her son Graham from Walk team “UBS” won a brand new Amazon Kindle, kindly donated by TSG Realty. Congrats to them! Thanks to everyone who registered for the Walk! We are so lucky to have your participation!

Prepping for the “Greatest Walk on Earth!”
Things are moving quickly here at JDRF North Florida! The second we finished with the Miracles Gala, we jumped right into planning mode for the 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes. This year we will be doing a circus theme, so much fun! The “Greatest Walk on Earth” will be held on March 24, 2012 at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds.

Happy Holidays from Jackie, JDRF Intern
Happy Holidays! My name is Jackie Gubbins and I have been interning for JDRF for a little over two months now. I wanted to share a little bit about myself to get warmed up! I graduated from Flagler College in April with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and an emphasis in public relations. I am originally from Wethersfield, CT but plan to stay in the Jacksonville area (where it is nice and warm) and to pursue a career in PR! A few months ago, I logged onto my Twitter account and sent out a post telling my followers that I was seeking an internship or job. @JDRFNorthFL spotted my post and reached out to me! I have been able to gain so much experience and it’s been such a pleasure to work with Brooks, Lauren, Pam and all of the JDRF volunteers.
