North Florida teenager does her part to find a cure for diabetes

Emily Williams was 5 when doctors diagnosed her with Type 1 diabetes, sometimes called juvenile diabetes.
Unlike the more common Type 2 diabetes, Type 1 diabetes cannot be controlled with proper diet and exercise.
Williams, now 14, and an eighth-grader at Landrum Middle School, must constantly monitor her blood sugar level, pricking a finger to test it eight to 10 times a day.
